Glitter is the latest buzz word and we see it everywhere: make-up, clothes, accessories or shoes. Why should the walls of your house be any exception?

For some time now, decorative paints have been enhanced with sparkling glitter, thus stepping up the glamour stakes and bringing in the light.

There is more than one way to make a glittered wall. The first and most simple way is to add an additive to your chosen paint and mix them well together. The second option is to go for a decorative product which already has the glitter incorporated into it.

Valpaint offers you both solutions:

Star Additive: working light into decorative paint

Additive Star enables you to obtain as many as 6 different glitter shades:

  • silver
  • blue
  • green
  • copper
  • purple
  • gold

Star is a special water additive for interior decoration which enables you to spruce up decorative water paints, glazes and protective finishes with sparkly coloured particles. Pour STAR straight into your chosen paint and stir in thoroughly before applying the last coat.

Some decorative paints are easier to use that others with glitters: all the metallised paints, such as Klondike and Klondike Light, or those with a sandblasted look, such as Sabulador and Sabulador Soft, are more suitable for the purpose.

Polistof also lends itself well to the addition of lustrous L50 particles.

Some recommendations when using glitter

Despite what you might think, glitter can be used to brighten a whole range of rooms and not only for children's bedrooms. The final effect hinges greatly on the base paint it is stirred into. Dark metallised paints give a bold and manly finish, whilst pastel colours are highly feminine and chic.

Glitter brings light to a wall, it subtly enhances it and adds dimension to any surroundings because of its ability to attract light.

This is why we recommend you using it in strategic points to obtain the best possible result.
